JaNette and Steve are MIT grads who, after short stints in the corporate world, gave up high-paying careers to pursue competitive skydiving, full-time.
Since founding the competitive skydiving team, Skydive Chicago (SDC) Rhythm XP, in 2007, it has become one of the world’s top 4-person teams, earning medals nationally and internationally. As a coaching organization, JaNette and Steve love working with skydivers at all levels, running wind-tunnel workshops at the Paraclete XP freefall simulator in North Carolina, and facilitating skydiving events and/or coaching teams at Skydive Chicago and Skydive Sebastian, in Florida.
They created the free Rhythm Skydiving 101 app and they founded the Women’s Skydiving Leadership Network.
More info for all of these things can be found on the team’s Facebook page, or on their website, or by writing steve@rhythmskydiving.com.
I’ve been friends with JaNette and Steve for about eight years, and more recently had the privilege to work alongside them for two years as their team coach and aerial videographer.
I naturally took the job because of their potential as competitors and the fulfillment that would come from helping them achieve their goals. Little did I know how their lifestyle and their huge growth mindsets would positively influence my life.
We had a lot of fun recording this conversation, and as always with these two, I learned a ton.
Enjoy!
