Fred Williams is the president of Complete Parachute Solutions, known in industry as CPS. CPS is a defense contractor providing tactical military parachute equipment and training to the DOD, US Military and foreign allies. His vast experience in the parachuting industry and keen understanding of the customer’s requirements provided him with the insight to write the business plan that CPS was founded on in 2004.
Prior to working in the parachuting industry, Fred served 10 years in the US Navy SEALs with a focus in air operations and tactics, where his performance was ranked in the top percentile of the SEAL community.
Following his service in the military, and for the past 20 years, Fred has been employed in the parachute industry. That includes 14 years with CPS, the last four of which he has been president.
Fred has been married for 34 years and has three grown children.
All of Fred’s accomplishments are certainly impressive. In fact, often I have wondered how he manages to keep so many balls in the air at the same time, almost effortlessly. To me, however, what makes Fred extraordinary is the fact that parallel to every achievement, has been the ever-present responsibility of raising a family. And Fred doesn’t hold back in this conversation. He shares some beautiful insights about family dynamics, and I have to remind you guys, these insights apply to any group working environment. So keep you’re ears and heart open because there are some valuable morsels are coming up.
As a reminder, I vet my guests based on three specific criteria: a) they value time over money, b) experience over material acquisition, and c) they are NOT perfect, or in other words, they are ON the road of life just like you and me. But I have chosen Fred, and my other guests, because he inspires me and has added new perspectives to my way of seeing the world. Fred is as solid and thoughtful as they come.
Please enjoy this conversation with my friend, Fred Williams.
